Data recovery
The hard drive is clicking, the NAS is suddenly empty, or someone clicked “Format” at the wrong moment. Then it’s rarely just about technology.
What we do
What’s missing then are photos that can’t be taken again, projects nobody has months to redo, or accounting records the tax office takes very seriously.
We examine the drive, copy the readable areas sector by sector onto our own recovery system and bring back as many usable files as possible. Step by step, traceable, no hocus-pocus. A single SSD, a classic hard drive or a whole RAID: we treat every case as if our own data were on it.
Until then: switch the device off and stop trying. Every new attempt to start it can damage a failing drive further.
How it works
- First advice. You tell us what happened. We give a rough estimate. Free of charge.
- Drop-off. You bring the drive in or send it.
- Diagnosis. We check whether anything can be recovered and how long it will take. Free of charge.
- Quote. A cost range based on the estimated run time.
- Go-ahead. You agree, then the recovery runs.
- Invoice. Based on the actual run time, to the quarter hour.
If we can’t recover any data, we don’t charge anything.
What it costs
We charge for the time our recovery system is actually working: €120 net per hour. Whatever the drive, its size or the kind of damage.

Guide values. How long it really takes depends on the state of the drive. A 500 GB drive with lots of bad sectors can take longer than a clean 4 TB RAID. That’s why we charge for run time, not damage categories.
Included in the price
- Diagnosis and assessment of the damage
- The recovery on our recovery system
- Checking the recovered data for completeness
- Hand-over on an external drive
- A final report: what was recovered and what wasn’t
Not included
Clean-room work. If the drive has to be opened or a read head replaced, we work with specialised partner labs. That is charged by effort or passed on directly by the lab.
The drive for the hand-over. Bring a hard drive or USB stick, or we provide one and charge for it separately.
Express service. If your case should jump the queue, 50 % is added to the final price.
Payment on collection, before the data is handed over, by bank transfer or in cash. From €1,000 net, payment in instalments can be arranged.
Better beforehand
The cheapest data recovery is the one you never need. A backup that runs every night and that someone checks costs less per month than one hour on the recovery system.
